Degrees and Certifications:
I was born in San Francisco and raised in San Rafael, California. My brother and I were the first in our family to both finish high school and attend college. At San Francisco State University I studied broadcast communications and worked at local radio station KFOG after college. Five years later, I returned to school and studied law at Golden Gate University. As a lawyer, I have worked as a public defender, homeless advocate and appellate attorney. I am married to Michael Schuman and have two adult children, Aidan and Mara, who are now in college. I have a little dog named Jack who I enjoy walking everyday. When my children were young I began to find more satisfying work as a substitute teacher and tutor. Five years ago, I returned to school to earn a teaching credential and a masters in special education. I am now entering my fourth year as a teacher here at Bayshore and enjoy my students, colleagues and greater Bayshore community.
